im still new here but how many 12yo kids are browsing the LMF website? I guarantee you facebook or google or anything else for that matter will have far worse. Im a youth minister, not that it has anything to do with this, and would have said something stupid like " Johnny.........i know your 8 years old but you still spell better than these guys" or something to that effect. Why would a child be on this forum is my biggest kicker. I just dont see kids getting off the bus running home to see who sharpened their blades lately. just my .02

Ok, you got me with the youth minister line. No one's outwardly cursing or swearing on this forum, just good old plain talking. If the kids can't handle it, they should leave the site. Their internet activities should also be monitored by an adult, especially if they're 8 years old. Sorry, but I'm of the mind, "If you can't stand the heat...". I'm quite tired of my every move being monitored, evaluated, and commented on simply for political correctness. This is a friendly, informal forum.

In a word, get over it.

Exactly - just cause a kid asks a question, doesn't mean you HAVE to answer it. It's letters, for crying out loud. It's self-censorship, as are dashes. It's hardly defecating all over the forum.

I am not about to start sayin stuff like "gosh, Wally......that sure was sumthin'......".

When using a word like '*******' is too risque, it's really sad. Then three letters make someone mad and it's just freakin PATHETIC. Just people huffin around rubbing all our noses in their 'moral superiority'.

Poor language skills are when you can't use an adjective or an adverb to emphasize your point. To use profanity, or to reference it, is appropriate in some cases. To use HTF in a sentance, or *** as a thought all by itself, is a pretty efficient way to express one's complete confusion - without resorting to $100 words only the elitist language snobs know the meaning of anyway. Or, I think it conveys the true emotion of the moment better than: "land o' goshen, how in tarnation this here critter dun get in the house here now?" Now THAT'S offensive. It would also make more than one person exclaim: "***?" :smile:

I get real sick and tired of so many people prancing around looking for stuff to get offended at, and then making a mountain out of a molehill - everywhere in society. No one ever said you HAD to click on the thread. No one said you HAD to read it. No one said you HAD to explain what anything means to anyone. Grow a little thicker skin, why don't you....

I don't think anyone is showing their 'moral superiority' here, I think all they're asking for is too show some respect for the women and kids that visit or that are here on the forum.

As I said they do have smilie faces available for those words and seeing that the faces are not available here on this forum I would gather the administration doesn't think they are appropriate either along with the undesirable text.

[Mower manic]

Wenr downstairs about 6 pm yesterday, and in the cat's litterbox was a big *******' MOLE, trying to climb out. I helped him climb out, took the vermin outside, and bashed his head in with a shovel.

Seems like you could have given him a meal and a Tylenol P.M. first. Not very humane JD, after all there are children reading this.

What I don't understand is how it even got inside in the first place.

You got in there didn't you?

The only way it could have gotten in was thru the sump pit, which is deep enough and slippery enough (plastic) that it could never have climbed out before drowning.

If that's the only way it could have gotten in then why are you speculating?

There are no other ways to access the basement unless it climbed up the washer standpipe, which is blocked at the top and much too small for it to squeeze through.

What baffles me is just why the mole would even dig down six or seven feet below grade level and then somehow get thru the plastic drain tile in the first place....glad I saw the vermin first because my wife would have had a screaming fit had she spotted it, it was a BIG mole.
