Good to see them "earn thier keep" so to speak.
Is that "cat pride" I see in his eyes. His buddy looks jealous:licking:.
By the by, the dog got another possum Tuesday night. this one was huge, weighed more than the dog, estiimated 25#, dog weighs 17#.

My gosh, you have one really brave dog there...odds are I wouldn't even go near a possum that large. Did you train him to attack them?

No, it's just the way they are. And this one is a she, not a he.

This thread starter has un-desirable text content that I don't like having to explain to my grand kids.

In the title - HTF
In the text box - frickin'

To me it indicates poor language skills and above all - poor taste -

I can agree as to the undesirable text content for this forum. They do have smilie faces available for those words and seeing that the faces are not available here on this forum I would gather the administration doesn't think they are appropriate either along with the undesirable text.

So, it is apparently okay for the spammers and advertisers to do their thing here on LMF, but let a long term member use expressions much less profane than are currently featured on TV these days, and the flipping member-censors want to gripe, when they never seem to say a word about the freaking spammers and advertisers? WTF ????:laughing::laughing:

As far as advertising goes I personally don't have a problem with people advertising on the forum, I've always been in favor of that. As far as your expressions used here being less profane than what you see on TV, you have parental controls on television so if the kids are seeing things that have undesirable content it's the parents fault :ashamed: and you'll have too excuse me but I didn't know being a Long Term Member gave you any special rights for anything.:confused3:
I guess we should have some parental controls here with the way some members act.
As I said they do have smilie faces available for those words and seeing that the faces are not available here on this forum I would gather the administration doesn't think they are appropriate either along with the undesirable text.

Well, WTF, the thread stood, and is still standing so......

Apparently, admin doesn't have a problem with it. Again, if HTF sets you off - use some common frickin' sense and don't click on it if you wanna huff about it. "huff huff, do it fo da chiwdwen....cwean up da potty mouf" BS. If you don't wanna explain what the letters mean, just say "it a naughty word....." PC people are a nitpickey pain in the a--.

Exactly - just cause a kid asks a question, doesn't mean you HAVE to answer it. It's letters, for crying out loud. It's self-censorship, as are dashes. It's hardly defecating all over the forum.

I am not about to start sayin stuff like "gosh, Wally......that sure was sumthin'......".

When using a word like 'frickin' is too risque, it's really sad. Then three letters make someone mad and it's just freakin PATHETIC. Just people huffin around rubbing all our noses in their 'moral superiority'.

Poor language skills are when you can't use an adjective or an adverb to emphasize your point. To use profanity, or to reference it, is appropriate in some cases. To use HTF in a sentance, or WTF as a thought all by itself, is a pretty efficient way to express one's complete confusion - without resorting to $100 words only the elitist language snobs know the meaning of anyway. Or, I think it conveys the true emotion of the moment better than: "land o' goshen, how in tarnation this here critter dun get in the house here now?" Now THAT'S offensive. It would also make more than one person exclaim: "WTF?"

I get real sick and tired of so many people prancing around looking for stuff to get offended at, and then making a mountain out of a molehill - everywhere in society. No one ever said you HAD to click on the thread. No one said you HAD to read it. No one said you HAD to explain what anything means to anyone. Grow a little thicker skin, why don't you....

To heck with them, gosh darn it!

Oh, stool - I did it again.

I'm sorry, but being a longterm member with a high postcount DOES mean something - it means PARTICIPATION IN THE FORUM. And that PARTICIPATION is of far more worth than any discomfort caused to someone who is thin-skinned.

Even if you fail to find merit in JD's posts, he is here - every day. He will talk to people about anything. In a real man's language. Not some TV show from the 50s. Not like some college professor wannabe. Just like a guy you'd meet almost anywhere in workin man land. Little rough around the edges? Probably. But a good guy no matter HOW he talks. Some people pop in, throw around their ideologies, and pop out for weeks and weeks. There is a difference.
