How to maintain variety of batteries

I have a few different batteries from a generator to motorcycle to truck. Should I connect these to a trickle charger to maintain whatever health they have left and if so would a cheap solar charger suffice? And would I just connect them all up in series? Not exactly lawn related but you guys...

Kohler Xt675 carb leaking out of the throat

Can't figure out why this carb is leaking. It's my newest one so everything looks new but it leaks from the front out of the main jet. The little rubber stopper valve is a soft rubber I think works against me blowing into it. Any ideas?

All generator, pressure washer and mower have the same carb!

Or so it seems to me. How interchangeable are these? If so that would be great for testing. My eyes are bad but they seem almost identical. BTW, am I right in thinking with my mower carb shown by itself has that extra linkage to have the throttle the default position choke spring closed where...

Echo was working but suddenly no more

I've got fuel(too much? seems leaking everywhere) and spark. Was working decent before after struggling with rear adjustment screw under primer, now suddenly it won't start. Tried with and without choke, with cover off. Seems to have compression as always. Tried with adjustment screw...

Echo trimmer string always running back into head

Why do these pull the string in so often making me have to take it apart and re-insert the string all over again? I push to let it out til it has to cut itself on the blade, perfect length then after some use one or both sides pull the string back in through the holes. Or what am I doing wrong?

    Craftsman trimmer no fuel?

Should I be able to blow through this inlet? It's the fuel inlet, not the primer bulb one.

No fuel to Briggs Toro 20065 mower

Should I get enough fuel digging in there from a few pulls of the rope? It starts with carb cleaner but won't keep going and I'm not able to get a Q-tip wet. I gave it a quick cleaning, used a wire in all the holes I could poke and cleaned the bowl and the needle jet which I assume works since...

    Dreaded Echo grommet (PAS-225)

What's the trick to getting that 3-hole grommet in there in under 5 minutes? Every time I do it it's a 30 min battle and it always leaks

How to test 24v 13" Worx Mower

I tried testing with a Milwaukee 18v figuring I might get something, got nothing nor did I get any ohms from it. I tested it from two positions of the only switch I found on it. No reading for resistance usually means it's dead no? It's an old model.

Why are both my aftermarket Kohler XT carbs leaking?

Turns out after trying both out they both leak and I popped in my oldest one, which now I can't remember why I replaced it, and it works. Not perfect but doesn't leak and maintains decent power. So what typically causes these to leak, maybe just aftermarket ones? Could the main jet be too big...

anyone familiar with this particular flywheel key?

It's the same one I'm working with. There should be this "key" kinda protruding from that space right? I should be able to feel it yes? Looks like nothing is there on mine. Last I checked I could turn the engine over with carb cleaner but it would immediately stall after.

Toro 20065 that only starts when I use carb cleaner.

And it's barely doing that now. But once started goes good. That little red rubber bulb to suck up fuel doesn't work so I don't know if that's the function I'm replacing with the car cleaner. I wluod doubt it as it's now getting very difficult to start it even this way particularly when it's...

New plug, coil, and carb but no start

So I have a Toro mower with Kohler engine PH-XT675-2070 with new carb and plug and ignition and after spraying it with carb cleaner I got it to pop a few times but ultimately it doesn't want to even start anymore. The flywheel 8s pretty rusty and it's hard to turn over. Any suggestions?

How do you make your trimmer carb last forever?

I have gone through several, like at least one a year and have collected a ton of filters and fuel lines and spark plugs from these kits, I guess I could sell but I'd rather not have to keep buying the carbs. Can you seafoam them or something similar, fuel treatment, to keep these clean? I have...

    What causes trimmer idle high?

It's an echo pas 225. I've got a carb I soaked in acetone in there. I have three, two old and soaked in acetone and a new one which I'm holding onto til I absolutely need it. So I want to learn how these work and how to fix em when possible. Mind you I adjusted the cable to give it more slack...

Where to get stock fuel tubing

Where do you get stock of this trimmer fuel line? If I'm gonna spend $15 and I just want tube then I'd prefer a roll of it than have to get a couple pieces and carburetor I don't need

    Mower suddenly can't stay running.(Kohler XT-675)

The two pics are the new one I just popped in and the other outside is the old one to show I'm using the same carb, although not exactly like the original which has a thermostat connection on the exhaust, I guess to the choke(?) so apparently it works as it has with the choke open and not...

Toro/kohler mower throttle & choke issues

https://youtu.be/1hJbR_k48dI I'm not sure how all this works but I think I might need a new spring or something. Can anyone enlighten me on what I'm looking at and maybe what the problem is. At least with the throttle as I think it I get that working I can at least use it. I'm thinking of tying...

    Echo pruner chain too loose

I've already adjusted the chain by standard method to the max so I'm guessing the chain itself has stretched out. And I've seen guides on removing links in it but they're done with a special tool by breaking off a particular (master?) link or something that is obviously different from the rest...

    Echo trimmer won't stay running

I ruled out the air filter and spark plug. But I did notice fuel around the air filter and spark plug hole. Does this mean the carb is dirty and the float isn't working properly? If so and I'm able to clean it out, what should I do to keep it clean in the future? This being a gas/oil mixture...

What is your favorite form of marketing?

My plan for starting out is door hangers and Craigslist and nextdoor and any other online local platforms. At some point soon I will want to get a website up. I'm also considering bandit signs and of course word of mouth combined with great svc. So what do you guys do and what would be your...

What kind of software should I get?

    How to collect payment

I see most guys/gals charge in average, like *$75/month for the standard "mow & blow" which is the average cost of mowing each week during season and twice a month off season, so supposing a customer paid either for a season or an off season then ended the relationship, *someone would get...

GPS app to track and register Job times.

I wouldn't know what they would be called if they exist already. I'm sure they do. I just don't know what the application and is for someone just starting out on a budget. I'm guessing there maybe something free out there. You tell me. I actually have two units for both of my cats. And they work...

    Anyone pay employees per job?

I'm not talking independent contractors as I read a bit on that and it seems a pain to qualify for that method, I still like the idea of pay per performance and pay each employee a % of the bill depending on exp., position, etc.

Anyone use 'all electric' or mostly?

I like the idea but imagine it costs a good 30% more on equipment. I think it would be something the customers and workers would appreciate. Thoughts?

new to the biz, thinking of buying a cheap one. what do I need to know/ask about?

I've got some money to buy, and she's got experience growing someone else's lawn care business. we may like working together. between us I've only mowed my own lawn a few times shabbily and repaired my equipment, no pro, but I'm mechanical. But that doesn't really matter as our idea is to go...
