I'm talking about those bottles you can buy that have a powdery substance in them, and they say they melt snow and ice... I always shovel up the snow from our paths in winter, but can never get all the ice up, so should I buy some of this for the ice ?

How would I go about doing it on a 100CC push mower engine ? I can buy a throttle kit (cable and lever) for under $20 from eBay, but how hard it is to fit to a fixed throttle engine ? It is just the matter of taking off a pin or something that holds the throttle wide open and fitting the cable...

The manual for my push mower says not to tip it on its right side, as that is where the air filter is and it will flood it, and "damage the engine". That is fine, however the oil filler is also on the right side, and when I change the oil tomorrow, I can't help thinking I'll have to tip it on...

As you probably know, I've been using 10W40 oil in my Mountfield 100cc mower since I bought it. I've only used it for 4 hours with the 10W40 though. I know I shouldn't have used the 10W40, but I did, who knows why! Anyway, I bought some Mountfield SAE30 (Straight-30) from the garden store...

This morning the sun was shining, the grass needed mowed, and I had the brand new Mountfield SP414 in the shed that I'd never even started up yet... So, I got the mower out the shed, filled the tank up with fresh unleaded, and filled the engine up to just under the MAX mark with 10W40 oil...

Since my purchase of a Mountfield mower, I've noticed there isn't a Mountfield section on the forum. Is this because Mountfield is owned by a parent company which is on the forum ? If so, what company is it ?

My 100CC Mountfield mower says to use either SAE30 or 10W30, but the only oil I have for it is 10W40 (for 4 stroke garden machinery)... Would that be alright to use ?

I've never owned a Self Propelled mower before, so this is why I need to ask this question as I've just bought one. I know the wheels are propelled via a belt, which wears out, as all belts do. But my question is: How many years/hours use can I get out of the belt before it needs changed ?
