Being that remote increases the costs of building exponentially. There's is a trade off, you don't have to look at your neighbors everyday.
I'm studying to map of Alberta now, I was there in 1985, Calgary. that was before the Olympics. You can't get much more remote than the northern reaches of that province.
I'm impressed.

Nice and quite,i like it that way
Bad thing is, there is lakes of oil under me(part of the oilsands complex)and the oil companies want to drill on my land.:thumbdown:
So instead of me going to the city, they want to bring the city to me

You are quite the nature photographer, RobertBrown. Thanks for posting such excellent work.

I just noticed one thing that I always take as a sign that winter's here: my impatiens (an annual flower that does well in full shade) are dying. We haven't had a real hard freeze yet but last night was close.

Close! We have leaf hoppers here but they are smaller, much smaller.
We call these Katydids here. Or you could call it "Amblycorypha floridana" if you wanted to. Don't ask me how to pronounce that.
I guess you and I are the only ones to take pictures of things other than lawnmowers.....other than Parkmower, he has posted a few.
I'll bet my mower is uglier than yours
