What happens to weedeater line as you use it? Does it dissolve into a powder or liquid, break away into little pieces and fly off, or what? I've never seen any traces on the ground.

Tiny pieces...usually only a few millimeters big.

Have you ever tried any good trimmer line?

Well if you weed eat before you mow your lawn mower will get rid of those little pieces to.

If you used good line, you wouldn't even ask your question.

Well I was using my trimmer to edge along the road so no matter what trimmer line you use it is eventually going to break when it is being slammed against concrete!

Your right Fanatic. Good line breaks off or no one would sell line period. It would just last forever. Cutting in among rocks or rocky areas really pulls the stuff off and breaks it. Chainlink fence that was set right on the ground eats it up pretty good as well. Real old thick late season prostrate knotweed is pretty tough on line as well. Sometimes I have better luck with cheapo Weedeater brand light weight line rather than the Pro heavier line.

I go through about a head of line a day 3 finger tip to finger tip lengths is one head.

I use .095 echo crossfire that I buy by the spool

Electrical poles, fire hydrants, raspberry plants, small trees, rocks, string edging, and fencing are my big killers
