My Echo has a 16" bar as well. It does everything I've needed to do as homeowner w/lots of trees.

They teach you that in chainsaw classes.

Just made 4 new chains for a handyman customer because he thought his chans were bad.
he brought the chains in and of course the teeth were filed back further than the bumpers so it was not cutting on the flat & he had been cutting on the tip for so long the bar was undercut at the tip which was allowing the chain to jump off.
