    Transmission slipping

Costly mistake...should have left the handle out and dragged it. Better yet, pull the two releases on the hydro's and go very slowly. Probably a 3400 series hydro gear...ouch :(

    Kubota T1880 won't start

Pat, respectfully, I recommend that you take the machine to a local small engine repair shop with a good reputation. Do not use that old gas, do not store gasoline in a glass jar. I am not going to be able to resolve the many issues you have with your level of knowledge. Please, bring it to a...

    Kubota T1880 won't start

Okay, I had a closer look at your pics and saw several things that are incorrect. First, the wire coming out from top of the cylinder is the "hot" wire for the solenoid on the bottom of the carb and you have it connected to the stud. The black ground wire goes to where you inserted that threaded...

    Starting & Cutting Out Issues.

Fuel cap vent. Soak the fuel cap in some dish water and rinse well. next time it happens try loosening the cap and see if it fires up. alternately simply purchase the correct fuel cap from Toro dealer and be done with it. But first check to see if it fires up when you loosen the cap.

    Kubota T1880 won't start

First, you need to purchase the OEM carburetor, not the cheapy Chinese ones that NEVER work correctly. I have no idea why they sell them; the reviews are all fake posted by employees or distributors. If you wish to fix it correctly, go to your nearest 'bota dealer and order the correct...

What's wrong with my Honda Lawnmower? Almost pulled my arm off! Repair? New mower?

The issue with the electric mowers is if they fail, who is going to fix it? The two most common issues are battery and motor failure. The motors will overheat in heavy, thick grass and melt the windings. Good luck getting a new motor. However, no need to worry about gas and oil. Just the blade...

Best Oil To Use For Kawasaki

How about simply following the manufacturers recommendation in the owner's manual? They bench test them under full load for thousands of hours with various oils. The engineers that designed the engine are far better versed in which viscosity and spec will provide the longest life. You can't go...

Engine dies when I engage the blades???

Does that have a "mow in reverse" cut out switch? Just a thought.

What's wrong with my Honda Lawnmower? Almost pulled my arm off! Repair? New mower?

Not on a 15 yr. old Honda. The engine must be fully disassembled. Tons of good used ones for sale on Criag's list and Facebook marketplace.

What's wrong with my Honda Lawnmower? Almost pulled my arm off! Repair? New mower?

If both valves are closed there will be compression if the belt broke. But I agree that the flywheel may have slipped if something was hit solid. Hopefully that's the problem but he didnt mention a blade strike so I doubt it. If that was the case you would not have abnormal resistance when...

What's wrong with my Honda Lawnmower? Almost pulled my arm off! Repair? New mower?

Hard to diag via text. However, my guess is the either the plastic overhead cam broke or the nylon timing belt broke. remove the valve cover and have a peak. It is quite easy to remove the cover.

I have two employees and we are busy year-round. You can research me here if you wish.

CV461s 16 HP. New aftermarket carb, won't run correctly?

Of course, I always try to thoroughly clean the original with a strong solvent (Purple Power and Berryman's B-12) in an ultrasonic machine as well as manually when it comes out. I am 97% successful in doing so, however, sometimes you get one that's been sitting for years with bad fuel and...

RPM for a 22" residential push mower

My Pleasure. Not sure why you perceive 3200 as high, they are set from the factory between 3000 and 3200. The governor spring gets fatigued over time and may need an adjustment. I'm thinking once you get the blade balanced so that it runs smoothly you will get used to it. My only other thought...

RPM for a 22" residential push mower

Sure is, drive a 3" nail straight into a stud leaving about 2" exposed, wipe a bit of grease on it and it is a far more accurate balancer. It sounds fast because you're used to having it so low. 3200 is ideal.

RPM for a 22" residential push mower

The spec is 3100 to 3200 RPM's for a 21 or 22 walk behind. Those cone balancers are useless. Simply drive a large nail in the wall and wipe a bit of grease on it to balance. If it is a star hole, simply place a similar sized socket in the blade hole to balance. Balance is important on the long...

I pity your customers if you do such things. I fix them right, every time.

Pre mixed fuel vs mix it up yourself

I suggest you find out for a fact. Take two coffee cups, place the diaphragms and the rest of the carb in the cups. Fill one with forty dollar a gallon "true fuel" and the other with pump gas and allow both to fully evaporate. let set for a week, repeat the process for a year and then see if...
