The valve guides are bronze and pressed into the head at the factory and with excess overheating, they will creep upward out of the head over time.
Look between the coiled sections of the valve spring to see if the guide is raised upward towards the round valve retainer. If you can push on the top of the valve spring assembly and the travel is stopped in a short distance, that means the valve guide has moved upward. The valve springs have fairly strong tension so it will take some effort to push them down.
Teryll Fixes All has a good video about this problem and a solution, but I do not recommend it if you have limited repair experience.
