There is too much money in selling replacement parts for them to seriously fix the problem.

That is because fools are very resourceful .
However I d find it funny that a USA mower, rebadged for sale down here will have both a filter & a tap .
I wonder if it is a conspiracey to sell more parts or just pandering to plain laziness

I think it partly both. But i have heard of people fighting over a half cent too. Here locally there city government tax official demand a tax payer to pay the half cent tax. The tax payer went and had a penny cut in half to pay the tax men he refused the useless half cent piece and don't know if the issue was ever resolved.

Pay the 1/2 cent tax with a penny. Then demand the change.

Here's Honda's official how-to guide for cleaning a Honda mower carburetor. Modern fuel mixtures aren't so great for small gas engines, and if you're having trouble with rough running, only running on CHOKE, or poor idle, there's a good chance the carburetor has some slime, gunk or debris somewhere inside.

Had a problem only running on choke replaced the carb with a new one and there is no difference any Idea would be appreciated

Only running on choke means the gas/air mixture is wrong. Choking it sucks more gas into the head. So I'd say check the fuel delivery system. Fuel lines, fuel filter.
Also, if you haven't done so, post a new thread, with the engine model number so we'll know what you're having trouble with.

I just strip and dump in the ultrasonic cleaner. Wash off, dry and put back together. My HRR216 has been a one-pull wonder for 10 years now. The last several years I’ve been removing the ethanol from my power equipment fuel which has made a huge difference on everything.

Seat material is better than it used to be, as are fuel filters, so it is not as much of an issue as it was 20-30 years ago with poor-quality rubber and dirty fuel.

That said, with all the ethanol fuels today, the jury is still out on how long a modern seat will survive. I can tell you I've not see a truly worn-out one in many, many years. Use good quality fuel, don't allow it to go stale, check/replace the fuel filter, and I'd bet the seat would last the life of the engine.

From what I understand, there's way worse things in todays gas than Ethanol. Gasoline storage has always been an issue, even before ethanol. Gas left over in carburetors and fuel tanks have been causing the same damage to carbs forever.
That saloon guy made a video of this a few years ago.
P.S. I'm not taking up for ethanol, by any means. It's not good. But I found that if you put it into equipment that's going to be used regularly, there's virtually no ethanol problems. It's the long term storage that get you.

Funny how seats and needles are still a problem. Anyone who works on really old equipment or old gas tractors that have metal tipped needles and metal seats know you ALWAYS turned off the fuel valve or next morning you had an empty tank. It was in the instruction manual. The old medium and large 2 piece Briggs flo-jet carbs were so bad they put a drain hole with a felt seal in the carb throat to drain the gas so it wouldn't fill the engine with fuel. We put a man on the moon 50 years ago and we still can't make a fool proof needle and seat.
