What kind of wood is the top....maple? Did you glue that or buy it in one piece? Are you going to mount a grinder or any other machines to it? Is that 2" pipe for the legs (drill stem?....sounds like it's tempered)?
Nice looking joints.

These are 9' left over pieces of the laminated header over the big door of my shop.the headers were originally 30' long, but i needed only 21 feet there.(i have no glue as to what kind of wood it's made from)
Drill stem is used oil drilling pipe.I build all kinds of things with it,mostly gates and panels for the buffalo.I don't think it's tempered,altough it's pretty tough stuff. But it is sometimes magnetic,which can be hard to weld.(there is a trick to that).

There will only be the vice on this bench,its main use is for mechanical stuff and woodwork,i wanna keep it clean. i have free standing grinders and drill presses.

For metalwork and welding i'm gonna build another bench with a steel top.
