This was in my driveway last Thursday

He was trying to leave my property. Needless to say, I was highly insulted and herded him back to the ferns.

Well Robert, now I know why you look the way you do:laughing: It seems to me that the gater could have turned on you just as easily. I'll keep my distance, you there and me here.

You're probably afraid of lobsters too :licking:.

It's a puff adder, referred to as an "Eastern Hognose". It's harmless to humans as it eats only frogs and toads. Kind of amusing as it flattens it's head out and puffs like a boar hog when threatened, if you don't leave it alone it rolls on it's back and plays dead until you loose interest and leave.

As for lobsters I just drown them in butter, no problem:thumbsup:. I don't know much about snakes either and I don't think I want too.

I will keep my NY winter and snow. Don't like snakes and the only good snake is a dead one. I sure wouldn't want the alligator. After seeing what is in your lawn as I sit here looking at a snow storm it dosen't look so bad.

Snakes and gators can live on for all i care, but it sure is nice not to have to worry where one puts it's foot out in the bush or stand in a lake or river when fishing.
For the rest i agree with ye,..after all here we only have to worry about harmless bears, cougars or wolves, but that is minor eh

Moose and bison with a calf are also very friendly

For some reason I can't help myself when it comes to snakes can't stand them?? My father went he was living a snake didn't bother him at all but that is something I didn't get from him. My summer home is in the northern NY Adirondack mountains and we only have the black bears. There is a lot of smaller wildlife but if you keep your distance they won't bother you and as far as the bears go if they see you first you won't see them. Unless they have a cub I am told. I have been told that even a deer will attack you if things are just right. I have been told by the locals that there is timber rattle snake in the Adirondacks but I have never seen one. We are starting to get a few moose coming down from Canada also.
