Most people would mistake that for a coral snake, a venomous snake with a very potent neuro-toxic venom.
This is another Black racer

This what rural Florida looks like in the late fall.
Colt Creek ranch not far from Lakeland Florida or Green swamp

It looks like one has to watch his step with al these slither creatures around.

Nice looking forest behind these bales, but not much green left in that field.

The sleeping alligator

I saw this gator sunning it's self on the bank so i decided to see how close I could before he spooked. I actually had to wake it up to get past.

At about 4' away I could not get any lower and still keep my feet under me. You can see that his head is on the ground and his body is obstructing his view of me, so I had to stay low. I wasn't willing to get on my thigh as it would take too long to get up if he decided to turn and face the threat. see below
These pics were taken with a cell phone with no optical or digital zoom.

Yea, I just stood up and stomped my foot on the ground and scared the gator cr&p out of it. Then it launched it's self into the pond.

No that's not my pond, I could not keep a gator with the dogs .

Well Robert, now I know why you look the way you do:laughing: It seems to me that the gater could have turned on you just as easily. I'll keep my distance, you there and me here.
