Me too. I have two old chainsaws that belonged to my grand father. I also have a two wheeled cart that my great-grandfather built using the front end out of an early 30's model Ford.

Woah - wooden timbers in the foundation? That's a REAL barn!

I believe this type of foundation is called a mudsill, but I could be wrong. Basically a trench was dug and a log was placed in that trench, then the barn built on top of it. The barn was probably built in the late 20's to early 30's. Last week it stood up to straight line winds in the 100 mph range....but even with that, every time the wind blows hard, I expect to see it on the ground.
