Then you have no choice but just run it wide open.
No point in letting it sit and run wide open you may as well be mowing.

But surely when the self propel is engaged is puts a strain on the engine ?

i dont bother warmin up anything the car the trimmer push moweretc i also like preserving my tools but dont find it damages them not warming them up:thumbsup:
