That's funny -- I didn't think it looked like cut (and dried) grass. I thought the brown strips were dirt.

It is dirt!
If you watch to the end of the second video you will see them gathering the green stuff up.
They did not let it dry they picked it up and the machine chopped it and blew it into a high sided wagon.

It looks really fast -- does anybody know the top speed while mowing?

And how about those dirt strips (parallel to the direction of mowing) -- does it leave those as it mows?

POS
too slow, too heavy; too expensive
13mph - top work speed; 24mph (40km/h) - max transport
reg.ztr -depends of OEM - 13,15,16,18 mph

>300 000 EURO (~>400 000 USD ($) - like 30 15(18)mph movers

12 L engine - only 480 hp; Chevy Corvette - 6L-430 hp; 7L - 505hp
at least 15 gal per hour - full car tank/hour or 3 of 5gal gas cans per hour
18 ton (40,000 lbs)

p.s. regular 15-18mph mowers would do circles around this behemoth : )))))))

The large buildings in the background must be the intended destination for the green chop, looks to be a dairy. Around here they call those swathers. None of them I have been around have that type of cutting however, they all have a sickle that cuts it . They are not so large either, nor can a person cut that fast. Truly an amazing machine.
