If you've got access to a shop manual, either online or papyrus:laughing:, it should give you all the grisly details. On one of my heavier-built mowers, there is a zerk on the steering shaft that you'd never know was there until you removed the battery, cleaned out all the grass, etc., and reached in and felt for it. I'm going to guess it hadn't seen lube since it left the factory.
