Is that echo blower good? I am going to buy a new blower for the fall and i usaually use backpack blowers but was thinking about getting one like that. Can it blow a lot of leaves at a time or is it not that powerful?

I think it is fairly powerful, but I haven't had time to blow a lot of leaves. Obviously it won't be as strong as a backpack blower, but I think it is fairly strong. If you are going ot get an Echo handheld blower definitely get this one, and not the PB-250LN. Here are some reasons why the PB-255LN is better than the PB-250LN:
1. has a rubber grip on the handle
2. flared end pipe (you can get one for the PB-250LN, but it comes on the 255LN.
3. Extra handle on the bottom if your arm gets tired.
4. With all that, it is only .5 of a pound heavier!!

Echo says the maximum air flow on the PB-255LN is 191mph, the average is 157 mph the flared pipe is supposed to increase the air speed.

Yep it does. It is pretty powerful, but all I do is blow off the driveway and street of grass. I will be able to tell in a few weeks if it is powerful when I start leaf clean-up.

The flared nozzle increases air speed (mph) at the expense of air flow (cfm). Blowing power is the product of air speed and air flow. The PB-255LN has a maximum air speed of 191 mph and a maximum airflow of 354 cfm, whereas the PB-250LN has a maximum air speed of 165 mph and a maximum air flow of 391 cfm. The net blowing power of these two ECHO models is about the same. So, the PB-255LN will blow debris farther, but the PB-250LN will blow a larger amount of leaves at a given time. Another advantage of the PB-255LN over the PB-250LN is that it is 1 db(A) quieter, although they are both very quiet blowers. As to the PB-250LN not having a padded handle, I solved that with some padded bicycle handlebar wrap.

What did you buy for the fall.....a handheld blower or a backpack blower??

P.S. Now that I did fall clean-up, I can tell you how powerful I think my Echo PB-255LN is....I think it is very powerful! I have never used a backpack blower, so I can't compare it to them, but from my stand-point, it is very powerful, and a great piece of equipment!
