Kawaaski FR651V - FX air box conversion

Better, I would think a strap of metal that runs across behind inside shroud, drill thru then use bolt / nuts & washers with loctite..

With shroud off might wanna make sure engine fins & all is clean..
Jonas from PEM suggested I try some #10 x 3/4" panhead screws. Upon examination of the shroud, I discovered it had 2 bosses into which the screws went. I had thought it was only a 1/8" or so thick layer of plastic. Got the screws and coated them in "permanent" threadlocker. We'll see. If not, then it's bolts and locking nuts or nuts with threadlocker. They snugged up very well. There is a possibility I had failed to snug the others. One thing I know, those factory screws are rediculously - high.I've seen them run from 2.50 - to almost 4.00 each. I purchased a pack of 100 stainless for 9.00.
