Hi Troops,
The power went out last PM during a thunder storm, I slept, if you can call it sleep, in a chair as the upstairs was just too hot!!! Fired up my 1994 Coleman Powermate 4000/8 HP old Briggs this AM. I backfeed the entire house thru my 240 VAC welder plug and extension cord. Of course I turn off all the high amperage items and the main from the street. Power just came back on at 4 PM. I somewhat keep track of the hours on this generator and it now has approx. 500 hours, not bad for an aluminum cylinder Briggs!!! It is much happier with 89 or better gasoline which was $4.20/gallon this AM!!! Ouch!!! Credit card bank called me about noon asking me if I made the gasoline purchases, $75 into my gas jugs and $68 to top off my van which was about 1/3!!!! Good thing that I sold the boat that had a 400 gallon, three tank fuel system that fed twin 502s!!! Big Ouch!!!
