Husqvarna Z248F (967336701) deck belt issues

The belt that was recommended is at least a foot too long. Not even close. I’m about ready to set this mower on fire.

Looking at the pictures, do you have the deck lowered? Maybe with the deck lifted, you can stretch it on. Pull all the slack, hook the belt onto that last pulley, and turn the pulley to stretch it on. I'm talking about the shorter belt, by the way.

I tried the deck at all positions. Something must be way out of whack on it. I'm baffled.
 
I think that with all those pulleys, it's accumulating a little slack at each one and adding up to too much. Have you tried using the blade to turn the pulley and pull tension? Pull the plug wire first.

Yes I have. The belt that Husqvarna was the correct part number is too short to even get close to sliding over the pulley even with the tension spring removed.
 
You confirm the new belt actual OC length. Of the 248Fs only the original used the longer the rest appears to use the 135.5 belt. The 248F is suppose to have a 48" cut deck.

And verify all deck idler pulleys are the same size.
 
I just got through doing a little searching.
It appears that Husqvarna has made a mistake in their parts listing. I have seen both belt numbers on their sites.
WTH are they doing?
Could there be a difference between the standard Z248 and the Special Edition Z248?
