Okay I just got the phone my Husqvarna tech support guy.

Here is the problem. You have 966612301-04 (revision level 4) which uses the 539120806 belt. Now the 966612301-03 (revision level 3) used the 575852401 belt. This should have been note in the IPL manuals. Also original -00, -01, and -02 also uses 539120806 belt. It is weird that one revision used a different belt.

So for future make you use the full 966612301-04 number when looking up parts.
Uh oh!. I found another OEM site listing the 575 852401 (maybe wrong belt) and ordered it last night. I guess I'm in for trouble.

Thanks.

So we have a stalemate
In your case try both belts
Measure them both and for the sake of others please come back with the one that works .
Get a paint pen and write the belt number & length under the seat for both your future benefit & any one else who may end up in the same situation if you sell them you mower
I have 7 Dixons in my run
Husqvarna bought Dixon and immediately took down all of the information relating to pre take over models
Every one of them is a problem for things like belts & pulleys
Luckily I keep a big inventory of belts so we can try a few to find the one that works best & put the rest back into stock .
Easy for me but expensive for you.
FWIW when faced with an unknown belt size on a manual PTO I use a length of rope run around all of the pulleys with the blades off.
I add 1" to that length which usually works and as mentioned above write the belt number & length under the seat with a white paint pen

If you have the specs, an old fashion electric repair/supply shop maybe able to help you, If you can’t an OEM.

In this case Bert, IL appears to have direct access to Husqvarna as does my distributor. I personally spent 15 minutes on the phone with my distributor this morning verifying the belt PN.

As noted it is very important to the 9 digit plus the revision level to get the correct parts. All manufactures make changes during a model lifetime which in most case the serial numbers are use to find the correct. This usually works but not all times as I have found several JD mowers IPLs with the wrong serial number breaks listed.

What does IPL stand for and how can I get a IPL specific to my mower.

I keep meticulous records of everything I do to machinery. I recently sold an '03 Toyota Sienna that I got when it had only 8K miles. I passed a USB on to the new owner containing 607 files in 56 folders. I currently have 29 files in my RZ3016 folder.

Yes, I will come back with my findings and results. I try to always do that. I belong to a few photography forums and I sure wish everyone would. It'll probably be a week or more before I have something to report as some of the parts I ordered haven't come yet.

IPL = Illustrated Parts List
Husqvarna have most of them available on line from their web page "support" section
You will need the numbers from the ID tag to make sure you get the correct one .

On Husqvarna, what people refer to as the model number is actually more of a series number whereas the true model number is actually the product number.

The only place i can find the 575852401 listed is for the RZ3016 CA or 96661230202 model on my distributor website and also other sites like partstree. Husqvarna dealer site only shows the 966612302 or as they call it RZ3016 current and they are showing the 539120806 belt for it

It appears Husqvarna did a disservice to their customers when they released only one parts manual for all iterations of RZ3016 when some part specifications vary widely and simply connot be made to work from one iteration to another, leaving users in a state of confusion at best.

I have looked for a parts manual for the 966612301 04 and there doesn't appear to be one.

Anyone know of one for the 04?
