My 4622 Husqv hydro quit working. The drive belt seems fine. The belt seems to be in all the right places. What are the odds of needing a new hydrostat? Can they typically be fixed? How much is new hydrostat?

Will need more clarification since the 4622 brings up Zero turns not lawn tractor style mowers. And if this is a Z turn than it would have 2 hydro's not one, which would lead to more of a belt issue than a tranny issue.

So we will need the actual model and serial number from the mower tag to determine what you have.

Hello bradcash,

Look for the correct model number on the label under the seat it usually starts with "96"

Have you look closely at the main drive belt and pullies with the deck removed from the underside?

Have you had one of the wheels off and left the key out of the axle?

Transaxles don’t go out often. They also don’t just suddenly quit if they are hydrostatic. They slowly start failing. Cost prohibitive for a shop to fix. Typically $1000 and up, plus labor. In other words, buy another mower if it goes out.

2019 model with a Tuff Torq K46BT.

If this happen all a sudden did you remove a rear for flat repair? if so then it is likely an axle key is missing.

Otherwise the drive belt maybe simply worn out along with the V idler pulley. Belts will effectively lengthen as they wear and a worn V idler has the same effect. Both leads the drive belt slipping. Another possible is the transaxle is out of oil due an axle oil seal leaking.
