So the new house I'm moving into, well was. At the moment almost everything is in the garage waiting to get rid of the roaches. I looked at the house about 1 week before I started moving in. And didn't see one roach. Not a one. The day I hauled my first load, they were everywhere. Some house roaches. But mostly German. The exterminator, along with some stuff I sprayed and put out, made quick work of the house roaches. And seem to slow the German ones down quite a bit. But they're still there.
I put out foggers in every room, and sprayed the baseboards, cabinets and every nook and cranny with some liquid spray I got at Walmart. Then left for about 3 days. Came back and their population was greatly reduced. Now I'm only seeing the babies. But many many babies.
So I put down boric acid in all the cracks and crevasses, under the and behind the stove and frig. And cabinets. And all around the boxes in the garage. That was two days ago. I'm going to take my last load to the house in a couple of days.
And hoping to find the house roach free.
But I've heard German roaches can go weeks with out food or water. In fact, they can invade and infest a house that's spotless. Eating only each other also check out how to get rid of roaches?
I love this house. But won't live with roaches. Anyone battled German roaches and won?
You’re doing a great job so far, and it’s normal to still see babies even after treatments because German roaches reproduce so quickly. Keeping the house clean and dry is essential since even tiny amounts of water help them survive. Boric acid in cracks and behind appliances is effective if applied carefully, and gel baits are usually the best way to reach the nest because the roaches carry it back to feed others. With consistent treatments, monitoring, and patience over a few weeks, it’s absolutely possible to completely eliminate them and make your house roach-free.

CombatMax roach traps. Contains Fipronil. It works 1000% times better than boric acid. Same thing used in Termite proofing. Trust me on this. We had some living in an outdoor drain and an outdoor street drain that went ballistic when the county decided they were better than spraying. Whatever makes the environmentalists happy, including the diseases cockroaches carry. A couple well placed traps and the neighborhood is empty of them.

I finally had to call in Terminix pest control company and have them put down a "roach sterilizer" that would kill the roaches and the eggs.

My mom moved from Virginia and stayed with me here in TX for a short time and all of her luggage was loaded with German cockroaches. Those things are very hard to get rid of.

There were many late nights and early morning I spent on "roach patrol" trying every spray on the market. Killing the ones you see is easy, it's the ones that you don't see in the egg pods that have to be killed off as well.
