Anyone install an aftermarket fuel gage on their XTHD Gravely, it’s just real
hard to see the level in the site glass. If so what kind

Ask yourself - why do I need to see the fuel level?

My unswear would be you don't.
You can either just fill the tank to Max before work. If long days, refuel again to Max at lunch time.
OR
Go the full on geek way (my preference)
  • Fill the thank to Max.
  • Note the time (or engine hrs)
  • Operate the mower as normal
  • When done, note the time (or engine hrs)
  • Measured the amount of fuel that it takes to refuel up to Max
  • Divide fuel top up quantity, by time taken. You now have your gallons/litres per hour consumption.
  • From this you can estimate the fuel used, remaining and duration (time to empty tank)

Now that might be a brain overload. I know that nearly overloaded my poppy seed brain....:ROFLMAO:

Heck I have to do that with my 26 yr old pick up. Drive 400 miles and fill up as the gas hand can't make its mind up. Either the tank is full or empty according to it and no where in between. It just too much work to pull the bed by myself.

OR, you could just put a fuel gauge on it. As Arlo Guthrie used to say, "just wanna ride my riding mower."
 
Why would you not top off the gas AND OIL, prior to EVERY MOW? Oil ON the full mark, not under nor over.

Old wise smart folks would walk the property picking up log chains, bikes, engine blocks, cars, cinder blocks, branches and so on prior to mowing.
