Drive belt keeps coming off on toro zero turn model 75212 My Cutter 54in deck

Missing bolts usually cause the Camber to be off allowing the belt to enter the pulleys at a wrong angle

Now Camber is the tilt of the wheels top to bottom. Now toe is the difference between the leading edge vs the trailing edge of the tires.

I haven't or seen a problem with Toro in this respect but Hustler Raptors [and Big Dog versions] are very bad at having loose or missing along with mounting brackets damage.

Now I just did an Ariens Ikon-X ZTR where the drive belt needed replacing. The owner complain about the two hours it took to replace it. It had a v-idler that was offset enough to cause excessive belt wear. That had to be fixed first. Now the customer wants to change the belt himself next time. He don't realize the unit has to be put up on jack stands for clearance, the transaxle brace removed. The deck belt removed from PTO clutch. The PTO clutch removed. The drive idler arm spring removed which the strongest I have seen. I also have a special tool remove and install the spring. On this mower it even took a ratchet strap on the tool to be able pull the spring in place. Yes next I might be able to do it under 1-1/2 hrs as the first time always takes longer as we got to figure out what the OEM did to us. Looks simple but is it does take a lot to do.

Good luck installing a new belt fellow Ariens owner. I doubt any home owner has the proper tools at hand. It not a job for the inexperience to do either.

Nylon topped locking nuts may help prevent future issues with them coming loose. I do not advise Loctite on the bolt threads because that could be a problem getting them back apart if ever needed.

Glad you found the problem. What I was referring to is a common reason belts toss on some mowers, or belts seem too loose. Look at the difference in geometry with worn and new pads.

Everyone thinks there a pro hell I ham a retired Marine with over 100 grand worth of tools of my trades and I still need to ask for help and have to pay the guy who knows more than I do. But like You said good luck hey maybe they will do it better faster lol
