The carb was super simple and easy to remove. Sure enough there was thick varnish. Soaked the carb then cleaned it up good and reinstalled it. The mower started right up and runs like a top. Never heard of Scotts mowers but I'm thinking its a cheap HD type mower. Has a good looking deck though. Looks like it might have some decent vacuum action. I know john Deere makes Scott's riding mowers. Do I will say you have a JD push mower.
 
Bought a 2013 Toro Turfmaster for $400. I sold my old one for 1100 and I didn't really want another one but the things just come in handy sometimes and the price was right. No pics yet.

Still using this mower.
It now has a Kohler 20hp on it.
Only bad is it does not like to start when it's cold out.

Yes same pumps.

Broke a axle on the left side. Upgraded to one inch axles.
Oil in them still was brown looked new.

Mower was on the trailer when I went over railroad tracks to fast. That's what broke the axle.
Welded it. And got a couple more months out of it.

It is a good mower.
