I just bought a 2020 toro time cutter zero turn. It will run for 10 to 15 min then shut off when on a slight hill,but will start back up then shut back off until I get it going down Hill or on the flat. Then it will shut off again very frustrating. I did notice the fuel filter was very bad so I changed it today 6/11/2026 still the same problem. Please help.

Debris in fuel tank would be first probability. Drain fuel tank, blow out fuel line, replace fuel filter, check for debris in tank and clean.

I recommend you remove the fuel tank and clean it really well, then replace all of the fuel lines. If the filter has debris in it, there will be even more in the tank.
For good measure, inspect the inside of your fuel cans for any debris sitting in the bottom of them.

I always used fresh e0 in the slow season when it takes longer to go through gas. E10 with a splash of marine 2stroke for the growing season. Change the filter annually. The e10 will eat the fuel lines slowly if it sits. Good recommendations above.
Amen to this. All starts with your fuel can spout type.
I too would dump the tank and flow test it.

In my area I get all kinds of equipment that have had trash in the fuel tank(s) because the owner always carries their favorite fuel can (with and open spout) in the bed of their pickup truck.
Unfortunately, most machines are built practically around the fuel tank these days and some can be rather hard to disassemble and remove the fuel tank for a proper cleaning.

So what is the time difference in ethanol E10 fuel versus premium no ethanol fuel in “eating fuel lines?” How many months or years? I ask because nobody can ever answer this question. Ethanol is blamed for too many problems. Meanwhile a lot of debris and water is found in customer fuel they came is ethanol free and bad fuel lines.
