You don't remove the steel plate. If yours is like mine, it's welded. You have to fish the new belt through asumming you pulled the steering column out.

Just put a jumper wire to each end of the connector. I did mine a long time ago.

Update: I got my mower back from the dealer. The service manager said there was debris in the carburetor. He said the jets were dirty. Whatever it was, it made it pass the fuel filter. The engine is running smooth now.

Yes sir, I liked my T2290 also for the most part. It's a shame that a name like Kubota and their quality has gone way down. I don't blame you for hanging on to the B2620, they are a great tractor. My dealer told me to sell mine because it's a very expensive mower to maintenance.

No, I'm not going to get rid of it. It's getting harder and harder to find a riding mower with a welded deck. I searched around when I bought this one, and most have stamped steel decks. I do not like ZTM's. I had a commercial Exmark ZTM and sold it.

A friend of mine had this problem where it would crank, but not start. Come to find out the valves were out of adjustment.
