Drove to back of property to do some weeding. Returned to ride back and nothing. Battery was 8 years old so I replaced it. A mechanic friend check brake , deck , and seat switches and all checked out. Any experience with this? Kawasaki engine...71 hours.

We could use some more information. Model number would help. Also could use some more description of the problem. It the engine not turning over? Have you tried jumping direct from battery to starter? Have you done anything to check the solenoid? Were you doing weeding off the mower, and just riding it? That's what it sounds like. Do you get any sound when you try and start?

Have you checked the fuses? Does the start relay in the fuse box operates when the keyswitch is in Start position?

Does the fuel solenoid on the carburetor clicks when the ignition switch is turned on? If not is there voltage on the white [400L] wire at the ignition switch with the switch in run mode?

Safety switches involved in starting is the Brake and Reverse. Brake has to be depressed and not in reverse. I assume you know this.

If it cranks and no start, it's probably a fuel solenoid. I've had a lot of problems with mine on my Kawasaki.
