I’ve had a few single cylinder Kohler courages and they seem to be louder than the briggs intek single cylinder I’ve had. Is it just me or are they actually louder? Just curious.

You said it yourself, the grass is too tall. Grass that is too tall is going to be really hard for the mower to mulch it. Dry or not it is still a tough job. You could try to side discharge it first and then mulch it or just double pass the grass two times with the mulch cover on.

Ok its been a while but I kind of forgot about this cub cadet ltx because I was busy with some other mowers. I found the issue and it was the engine mounting bolts! 3 were loose but like 1/16th of a turn haha. I started it up and it doesnt make any more noises and runs pretty quite now. Thanks

Apart from that, you should lower the back tires air pressure. It will help a lot, so if it is at 10 PSI, lower to less.

Maybe the gas line got old and it bent by itself. Try putting in a screwdriver and placing it in the bottom or maybe just replace the line, should be pretty simple.

Make the engine run for a little bit and then let it cool for a minute or so and then touch both cylinder head and/or valve covers to see if they are both hot. If one of them isnt hot, then it is not working

Have you checked the transmission release lever is on the on position, it could be that simple problem.

Try to run it again until it shuts off and then take off the fuel cap or unscrew it a little. Maybe it is the cap that is blocking from air from flowing inside.

I have a cub cadet ltx1040 and ran good and all but when I press the gas pedal it would move for about half a second and then come to a stop. Then I would press it again then the same thing would happen over and over, after that it started moving normal. Anyone have any ideas?

It has an automatic transmission so forward, nuetral and reverse and controlled by a lever. It will sometimes work good and go into gear normally but other times it will stay stuck in the middle (example, in between forward and nuetral) Anybody know what could be causing it?

Maybe the speed that you are trying to mow is causing the deck clogging.

Yes I will try that but I have tried to shake the engine by hand but it moves with the entire mower itself so I don’t think it is that.

I got a ltx 1040 for free. Made it start and all but when I turn it off it makes a pretty loud knocking noise. It’s not the deck or anything because I took it off to see if that was the noise. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks
