I have not do that for a while so I don't remember the exact location but I use a long 10 mm socket jammed in flywheel to lock it in place to remove the nut in the clutch
Compare GXV140 and GXV 160 you have difference 5HP and 5.5 HP and that was the spec more than 10 years ago .Now they dont made GXV 140 any more and look at the spec of GXV 160 on Honda now you will find out it have only 4.3 HP that because they try to reduce pollution ,lately HRC216 not for sale...
Unlike other Honda lawnmower HR21 use GV150 engine ,not overhead valve, its flat head and only 3.5 horse power .I found that its difficult to work on it as parts is hard to find and too expensive .Last time I work on this mower still can 't get it run right, running too lean
I have HR21 but rear wheel have metal gear as you said its newer style .I dont think it will work even the 2 gear may match up fine but its will move backward
Yes,it should fit,but GXV 120 is little weakj .I would find a good used GXV140 or even GXV 160 to install on HR214,It fit perfectly, just make sure it is SX or SXA model,HXA model disign to use on hydrostatic trans with dif gear ratio
