Here are our walkbehinds:

Bild005.jpg

on the right a SABO with Suzuki 2stroke engine. In the middle a Toro with 2stroke engine and on the left the Klippo Mulcher.

That's an interesting fleet, Mac.

Anything with a two-stroke engine interests me -- as you might guess.

Question regarding the mulcher on the left: what does the pivot point in the handle do? I've never seen anything like that.

The lever is for shifting gear. Klippo has Slow-Neutral-Fast. Front drive. Neutral means, that the mower also can be used without selfdrive.

Actually, my question was about the whole X-shaped handle, which I now believe is designed to come apart for easier storage. I've just never seen a mower with a handle in that shape.

Here's my two-stroke mower, an incredible Lawn Boy model 7266.

This is a photo of my faithful Jacobsen. It's only a B&S four-stroke so it's obviously inferior but I keep it 74 miles away from the Lawn Boy so it won't get a complex.

This one isn't a lawn mower - it's a rough-cut mower - good for brush clearing. It's a Billy Goat brand and has a Honda model GXV340 engine -- alas, a four-stroke, but at least it has overhead valves. The mower has three forward speeds and reverse.

I used to have that exact same Lawn Boy... also had the bagger attachment on mine. No photos.

35 years ago, Lawnboy was offered by Stihl. Same design like on the pic. I do not know, if they ever have sold one.

The Xshape of the handle at the Klippo? You can not see it on the pic very clear, but there is a screw, which can be loosen with one hand, so You can go beside the mower, to reach corners or work under bushes.

KLIPPO -

New Model, but nearly the same the ours.
