Ok Leisure67 I love the little collection you got going there! I'm in the market for a riding mower do you think John Deere is the best or which one should I be looking into? There are so many to choose from and I want to make sure I get one that will last awhile.

EverGreen ... you will have to get into a good time machine to locate the "best" John Deere...:wink:

:thumbsup: I probably have something similar to you then because mine is a gray deck with smaller back wheels. We bought a new house and it has a much bigger lot then the one we are at right now so I'm thinking that after we settle into the house we will be looking at riding mowers.

I have a Kubota BX23 - FEL, BH w/Bro-tek Thumb, Ripper & Trencher, 60" MMM, 48" Kubota Tiller, 48" Howse BB, 48" Howse Rotary Mower, Bro-tek Skid Plates, Pat's Easy Change System.
I also own a Kubota ZD326P mower. (pictured with my 76 yr old handicapped mother!! she's unstoppable!):thumbsup:

I am sure that John Deere is the best... my opinion may be a little one sided:biggrin:
I dont know much about the newer machines but as far as the pre '90 John Deere's go I would say that the 318 is one of the best that Deere made. They are a well built machine with hydrostatic, power steering, turning brakes, aux. hydraulics, & a lot of available attachments. They were & are a very popular tractor which makes them fairly easy to find.
There are a lot of other brands out there that are very well built as well which I'm sure doesnt make your decision any easier.
