Craftsman WS2200 won't start

Bought used not starting. Replaced carb, fuel lines and filter, spark plug. It is getting gas to spark plug. Pulled coil which was set on flywheel @ .10. Ohm tested coil 4k.
Should there be ohms the between the shut off terminal on the coil and the spark plug? If I unplug the wire from coil to switch will this allow the engine to run if its a bad switch or wire or is there another way to test the spring loaded switch with the coil off the flywheel?

So this is a trimmer. Verify you have spark. Add a little fuel into the throat of carburetor and see if it starts and runs for a few seconds on the fuel you added. If so, you know you most likely have a fuel delivery issue.

I have spark. Followed start up instructions. Plug is wet. I reset L(1.5 ) and H(1.0) turns fuel screws to factory spec for Simperac new carb I bought on Amazon. I then tried starting fluid down the carb throat and still couldn't get it to fire in either 1 or 2 choke position. I'm wondering if the coil is bad even though I ohmed it and it showed 4k and gap is .10. I put new plug gapped at .25 and fresh fuel.

Wet plug usually mean bad compression or plugged spark arrestor in the muffler.

With a compression gauge meant for small engine test the compression. Must be above 100 psi.

There isn't an arrestor on that model, just a muffler. I'll check the compression.

Bad compression. Only 70.

was the throttle open when you tested for compression? And, where did you buy spark plug?
