Trying to choose a good lawn mower.

Looking into buying a really good lawn mower a new one this is my choices I either want a scag hustler r ferris I have heard good about ferris and bag I heard the ferris is a good riding mower but not not cut well. Could anyone please tell me if ferris is a good choice please thanks.

So to get a quality result you need to to make some quality input.

Yard size & topography
Grass type
Buildings & obstacles
Cut , mulch or bag
Evergreen trees or deciduous trees
Snow ?
Soil, sandy , muddy clay

What works in Florida might not work so well in Maine

Well you want recomendations because you can not make up your mind and that is fine
However,
Scag have 12 ZTR's , 7 Standers & 3 walk behinds
Ferris have 6 IS ZTR's & 2 F ZTR's

You know which ones you are thinking about but no one on the forum does.
You know what you want to mow with them but no one on the forum does.
For some yards one will be a clear winner against the other but the forum has no idea where you are mowing & what you are mowing.

So I know exactly what I am talking about.
And you know exactly what you are talking about
Bu unless you tell us we will never know what is on your mind so can not possibly give you any meaningful advice.

Hell you even refused to list your location.
That makes you the only person in the past year who has not done that.


Ball is in your court.
Take umbridge and go stomping off in a petulant frenzy or provide the forum your criteria for selection.
Not rocket science.
So for all we know you could be a brain dead advertiser desperately trying to get some ideas for an end of season advertising campaign.
 
Ferris is the best mower ever made. Made right here in NY state, USA. Mine is 16 years old and still runs as good as the day it was made. It cuts my grass just fine. You should get years of trouble free service from a Ferris. I also worked at a Ferris Dealer for a short time as a mechanic. Can't tell you much about the Scag Hustler seeing I have never worked on or owned one.
 
Lol. I was trying to get ideals is what is better. I am not wanting to do a lot of maintenance. It don't matter where my location is what does that have to do with a mower????????

As grass varies depending on region, some models/models are better suited to specific grass types and other conditions.
As I am here in rocky, rooty, hilly, leafy, pine needles, acorns, sometimes wet, sometimes very dry New England, my machines need to be stout and durable.

Thank you so much for ur reply I was just asking for options I have never owned a zero turn this guy was talking about brain dead sounds like he was just a trouble guy. Just trying to narrow my search down I have ferris shop near me. Thanks again.
