Do You Pull A Dump Trailer With Your Zero Turn Mower?

Yes, I carefully read the manual for my MX 5060 (Form No. 3371-772 Rev A "Page 5") and there's only 1 paragraph and 5 bullet points that address towing and the information provided is completely generic. As an example: Follow the manufacturer's recommendation for the weight limits towed equipment and towing on slopes.

That is: Zero information regarding weight, etc.

The manuals are written by lawyers, lots of meaningless words to the regular person, lawyer speak. Like I said before, if they wanted you to tow anything, they would have used the tow info as a selling tool. example; "Our machine is so good it can tow xxxx lbs with the provided factory hitch". And they would clearly state max weight limit. "But thats just me"

I'm.pretty sure my 05 Dixie chopper XXWD5000 zero turn has a 2000lb tow capacity.. I pulled a pair of 48 walk behinds with it for a few weeks mowing .I ended up having a 13ft cut with it but the 48s couldn't keep up with the Dixie so i stopped using them
.probably towed about 1200lbs between the 2 of them,did it easily no problem at all.

People say read the mower manual and it's a good source of information but I think when you start looking at towing with a ztr the manual that should be looked at is the drive manual. The Mx 5060 is a residential machine and runs the 2800's that have a 10 cc pump and a 16cc motor displacement, and only has 300lbs of output torque so how much will it pull?? or should you pull anything at all?? Have you ever seen a specific weight stated in a manual for what you can tow??
Everybody can have there own opinion but the fact is the ZTR was designed for mowing and nothing else. It's not a tractor. It was designed to save the operator time and improve cut quality.

Yeah your Dixie probably does have a 2000 lb towing capacity but it's probably not running Hydro Gear drives. Dixie has their own drive systems on the high end stuff, Quad something or other not sure what they call it. I'm guessing It also probably has oil coolers for your drives that can make a big difference when pulling.
