Just got home and reading my mail.
I have a 2012 Hustler X-One/ 60" rear discharge deck/ Kawasaki FX730V engine which is used primarily at a local cemetery. There is a five acre unused portion of the cemetery that has to be mowed as the farmer is no longer able to hay it. As the cemetery is usually mowed 5 times a season, the grass/hay in the unused area can get high. After a slow first pass around the perimeter fence, mowing the rest goes easier. This grass/hay sometimes grows 18-24 inches between mowings. This machine goes thru this with relative ease, however the clippings are abundant.
As the cemetery has nothing "regular" about the grass, it was difficult for me to evaluate the cut quality of this machine, so I periodically brought it home and used it on several customers properties. I was impressed with the cut quality and providing that the grass was not excessively high, the discharged cut grass distribution was acceptable. This machine impressed me to the point that I bid on several large condo complexes with the idea that if I won the job, I would buy another Hustler X-One rear discharge machine. The requirements for this job were clippings were to remain, good quality of cut, no clippings blown onto borders, sidewalks, parking area, vehicles, steps, etc. I did win the contract, but with a change in complex management, the contract was canceled. Although I was not happy, they did me a favor as it turns out that they were impossible people to deal with. New complex management is now there and doing a fine job.
