Could you post a link to the "(<$20)" carb. Thanks.
There are dozens of versions of the GCV160 engine, and the carburetor is close, but not identical, for each one. Some have manual chokes, other have AutoChoke, some have manual throttles, some have fixed throttles, some are for use on Honda mowers, other for non-Honda mowers, etc. There is no "universal" carb for this engine, but most do share a number of internal parts.
The only for sure way to get the correct carburetor is to get the exact part number for a specific engine. To do that, you have to look it up based on the serial number off the back of the Honda mower deck "MXXX-1234567" OR the serial number off the side of the engine block "GXXXX-1234567"
Get me either of those numbers and I can get you the exact carburetor part number and list price. Or, you can contact any Honda dealer and get his actual retail selling price.
Tip: Google the part number to find an online dealer, but beware, shipping charges may add to the final cost and it is often actually cheaper just to buy one from a local dealer and pay the sales tax. Faster too, as most will usually have a good assortment of these carburetors in stock (it is a popular / fast-moving part).
