Hi all -

I have a JD GT242 that's about 20 years old named Lazarus. Freshly repowered with a Briggs Intek v-twin 18 hp. Now I need a wheelie bar. The old hood had fracured badly, so when I did the work this winter (no, the garage is not heated) I got a fresh hood top for it. Still have to trim the sides to fit over the motor, but its all good.

The other warrior is a Bob-Cat I'm itching to restore. Anyone know anything about dual shaft Briggs engines? I don't!

Hello all,
I'm new here, but not all that new to JD.
In a past life I owned 60 acres of Maine and a JD870 with bucket loader, log winch, and 5' pto mounted snowblower for my 4/10 mile dirt driveway.
In this life I have nearly 10 acres, of which I mow probably 3, a JD X300 with 48" mower. Times change!!
I bought this mower a couple of years ago and love it except last year I had to charge the battery every time I wanted to start it. It would run like a champ ( still does, I just charged the batt and started it up for the first time this year ), but when I wanted to mow the next week I'd need to charge the battery again. Lights always carefully turned off, so I really don't know where the battery killing draw is.

Ideas?
Thanks,
Oak

New here and new to John Deere. Bought first home last winter, has a 1.2 ac yard. Bought an LT160 lawn tractor 2 weeks ago with a couple useful attachments. 400 hrs. Just with it could accept a snowblower instead of a blade.

Man, you sure have the attachment's on there, buy the way, what kind of rear tires are those? I bet they don't loose traction a lot. Good looking machine too.

I just noticed this thread....own a L120 since 2003 (?) mowing 2acres 2xs a week during mowing season. I've replaced 3 pinion gears/sectors & bushings (steel too soft(?)) and waiting for a new pto. I replaced an Ariens (gave to my brother). I'm pretty much a DIYer for everything. I have already been given helpful info from this site. Thank you. AB

I am new to this forum. My JA65 John Deere mower has been very dependable and I just had a full Spring service. I have had no problems this Spring until this past weekend. After completing 90% of my lawn and refilling the gas tank, the mower would re-start but only run for about 2-5 seconds before it dies. Will not run. I checked the plug (looked fine) and the air filter (very clean). What could this be?
