The mower runs fine for an hour then starts showing signs of fuel staravation. When I true off the blades it fusses and pops then returns to normal operation … for a few minutes, then the fuel starvation behavior recurs.my local shop (Jones Honda, Columbia Mo) say they’re so slammed they can’t even accept it at the shop until October.

This seems like it should be simple. Anyone have any ideas? I serviced the machine a month ago. Behavior doesn’t change as result of different batch of gas. Normal lawn mowing, nothing rough. Fuel filter is installed correctly. Should I get a new one just to see? Spark plugs look brand new.

It sounds like fuel delivery issues.
Check fuel lines in the tank.
Check the 90 degree fittings at tank.
Check lines between tank and fuel pump.
If there is an on/off tank selector valve, make sure it’s clear and functional.
You might have to remove the tank and clean it.
Confirm that the fuel pump flow is unrestricted.
The carburetor is the final check.
Is the fuel solenoid valve functioning as it should?
Is the carburetor bowl clean?
Throwing a new carburetor on isn’t always the best thing to do. It’s often better to clean and install a carburetor kit of OE quality.

When running it & it starts acting up, try loosening the gas cap
