I purchased a Z248f a month ago and have use it twice. After each use the body of the mower has a layer of oily black residue all over it, and probably in my lungs. When you wipe it off the cloth is solid black.
The dealer can find nothing wrong with it. He has rung around and no one has seen anything like it. The carburetter is fine and no wear on belts.
Does anyone have any ideas on what is happening.

Another problem is starting from cold. When I turn on I have to release choke within half a second for engine to start. No leeway at all.

I have only basic mechanical skills but am interested to know what is going on.

Something to consider is the black oily substance may not be coming from the mower, but from whatever you are doing with it.

Just mowing block of grassland, as I have done with my previous husqvarna for the last 7 years.

Sometimes grass will get a black suety mold that will coat everything.
