z225 starts and stops plus fuel leak

Mower was running fine then died from broke wire. Now gas tank drains empty, fuel ran out of sparkplug hole when removed plug. will start run a 3 or 5 seconds then dies. Gas tank has no leak. no viseable fuel line leakage. Any help to solution greatly appreciated. Also engine emmit white smoke when running these few seconds.
 
check compression with gauge, possible blown head gasket & may need new piston rings.

absolutely correct, carburetor. i would overhaul carburetor with new kit, post engine manufacturer & all numbers from engine, change oil & filter after installing new carburetor to engine. give it a go & let us know how it goes.
