Hi all new member and need help. I have an early Briggs and Stratton 6hp?. The motor is red and pull start cover is white. It has the carby that is below inlet so motor has to suck up fuel. The Carby is brand new and motor has 75psi. I have lapped valve's but will not start, unless I use starter fluid then I get a good kick but that's all. Has good spark and piston seemed tight in bore.

did you check the flywheel key? it aligns the flywheel to the crank for proper ignition timing.
post some pics of the engine if you can,

Ok will do. No I haven't checked key way. Do you think 75psi is enough to suck up fuel?
