Wheel Horse LT 12-32 - Clutch problem

Hi everybody,

I"m the happy owner of a WH LT 12-32 (model 57450 between 1991 and 1999). It works perfectly, but since few weeks when I stop the balde clutch to empty the rear tray I can't re engage the clutch. I need to wait few hours and gerenrally the day after. A this time I have no problem to engage the clutch until i desengage it. I think about a heating problem (may be the interlock module due to its age ) or a sensor. No problem to restart just to re engage. And it's a bit difficult to find a new module.
Do you know this problem or have an idea? Could it

Sounds to me like you have an electrical overheating problem, which can be caused by multiple different components. I’ve included a copy of the owners manual, which includes a wiring diagram, which should help you troubleshoot the problem.

You are going to have to trace where you are loosing electrical power. These types of problems are going to test your patience and troubleshooting skills.
 
Rivets is correct that this could test your patience and skills. Do you have a voltmeter? You'll probably need one. I would clean the contacts on the blade clutch switch, and the connection to the clutch. I would read the resistance of the clutch when cool and functional, and hot and non functional. From there, it's the wiring diagram and tracing wires. It could be a bad component, or a bad connection. I suspect the clutch, but who knows.
 
Thank you Rivets and Mark H_NO for your answers. I ahve a voltmeter and I gonna try to investigate. The line for the clutch seems to be very simple but may be I loose the ground.

Sounds like it needs the clutch air gap adjusted tighter. The clutch pull in coil is getting overheated and losing its magnetism due to an excess air gap from years of wear.
