Works fine if you use it like a pushmower Not so great for the people that use them to trim up close and under objects that need the front of the trimmer to do that job where you cannot use the sides.

Isn't that what the mow ball is for? Of course you shouldn't trimming on asphalt or concrete.

This is not a totally bad idea, but I see this only being functional in a straight-line operation with no obstacles and not practical using it going straight at a garage door recess area or close trimming around trees.

The rounded end cutting ball spindle is much more effective and versatile over plain ground with grass, it's just not meant to ride for prolonged periods on concrete surfaces because it will wear down the rounded spindle ball end.

The 2-wheel DR trimmer push weed eater I have is great and it works circle around a typical handheld weed eater when it comes to heavy trimming.

For me, I would see a front wheel being a restriction.
