Hey Fellas-

I bought a used 54 inch Magnum mower (model BMG5425KO) from Facebook Marketplace with about 480 hours on it. Paid $1200 for it. It runs really good so I'm thinking I got a good deal. The previous owner said he replaced the spindles about 5 months ago and did a tune-up then as well. The left fender is busted and the grass chute is missing. I am looking for parts that are reasonably priced. The new ones are simply too damn expensive. Can anyone recommend an online parts store or do any of you have these parts for sale? Sure would appreciate it.

You'd think the chute would be easy and available. Lots of people remove them and put on 'Advanced Chute System'. I've got one laying around for a 72" Rogue deck. No idea what else it might fit.

Can you post a couple of pictures?
How much are you asking for it?

I really have no idea because I wasn't really thinking of selling. How much are they going for? And are you local to MN? Not really wanting to ship it.

Unless you buy locally shipping will usually eat you alive...Just ordered 100 lock washers, 20 hex screws, and 10 conical washers (Belleville) and the shipping $23 for 8 lbs. They use flat washers instead conical washers which is the problem here as the blades are slipping and over tighten the blade mounting screws. The Conical cost a little more but worth it. At least the screws and lock washers are lower in cost.

And shipping costs is why things cost so much. It is like the tariffs are fixing to hit all of us. Every time something is moved it gets hit with shipping costs.

On top of this these parts have always been on the high side price wise. Try buying a hood for a JD rider @ nearly $500 new. And just wait when you see the price for the BB spindle assy @ $204 each with the bearings @ $34 each and you will need six bearings.

Two BB MZ in the shop now one needing new blade screws and the other spindle rebuilds. The replacements are costing the customer $17.50 ea. The problem is the labor on the 2016 model as the floor pan is welded in place where the 2017 model it is hinged so deck has to come off. And just think these are going up 25% gpmu soon due the metal tariffs which those bearing will be $23.33 next week; those BB bearings will probably be $45.33 each. Welcome to the world of the highest tax hike since WWII.
