Talking about shipping prices,...Try shipping from the US to Can!

I had four ,1 1/2" X 1 1/2" pin bushings, worth $40,total weight 1/2 lbs shipped to me from WA via
USPS,initial shipping cost $8 + change...The US Border brokers added $20 to cross into CAN.
Sooo,..i end up paying nearly $30 to shipp a 1/2 lbs package worth $40.

And i still have to drive 30 ml one way to pick it up at the USPS office cause they don't deliver it out in the country.

Goverment sanctioned robbery at its finest,.....i hope the ones involved die a slow painfull death:thumbsup:

Shipping rates to Canada are completely WRONG... That 'brokerage' nonsense is just outright Theft.
I had not any experience with it until recently. Who is to blame for that system??
The responsible political group needs to be overthrown and Never allowed to devastate any other thing.
Shipping restraints only hinder the populace.
I now see why no business is anxious to ship to Canada... and after my recent experience I am not apt to volunteer further assistance. It is just unbelievable... KennyV

That is courtesy of the Can goverment that sold the custom border clearing bussines to a US brokerage firm a number of years ago, we have been nailed in the ***** ever since.
A couple years ago my wife bought online a coffee maker from the US for $ 95 shipping included via UPS or Fedex
When she went to pick it up at the pick up point there was a $105 broker bill waiting for her.
Pay,..or no coffee maker,...., no amount of talking could change their mind.
She left it there and walked out.

I guess Canadians like to bend over and get it in the rear end.
I tried to fight it but nobody seems to care this side of the border.
It is prob one of the reasons prices are higher here in the stores on just about everything versus the US

I'm from NewYork, so I come in contact with Canadians regularly that come over the border wearing rags for clothes, strip naked at the store and put new clothes on and go home. Can't blame them when their dollar is about the same and they have at least a 13% tax on things not including the items are priced more there.

Pretty hard to do when one lives 700 mls north of the border
BTW,here in Alberta we got only 5% fed tax,..no provincial tax......yet.

I've lived my entire life on the boarder. I can't stand malls, walmart, or markets on the weekend. But I'm glad they come and spend here cause if they didn't who would?

I have to revise above statement after reading the bill on the parcel.

parts charge was $ 26.04
shipping was $24.95(steep enough for a 1lb package)
UPS Border clearance Broker charge .....$19.40 ....payable on delivery.

Welli got even with them thieves.
I phoned UPS and reamed their ***** out,..took a bit of cussing but they agreed on paying me back $18.40.
They told me to avoid paying these charges in the future to send it airfreight,..no broker charge on that.
You go figger:rolleyes:
