My mom had a hip replaced at age 87 and I wish she had had it done earlier. It went very well and she enjoyed walking again without pain.
Get well soon i"m sure you will enjoy your new hip when it's all done. Wish you the best of luck see you back here in a week hope for fast recovery to. Keep us posted:smile:

Russ, the thoughts and prayers of the LMF members are with you....hoping for no complications and that everything goes well. We are going to miss your contributions here while you are away from the forums.
Good luck, Russ. I'm recovering myself from an emergency appendectomy just 3 weeks ago. Surgery sucks, but on the positive side, my wife has had both of her hips replaced. She says it's about the easiest one of the bunch for pain. I've got to give her that since she's had 9 replacement surgeries altogether. Hopefully yours goes as well as hers have.
I guess you're already recovering by now. Hope it went well and that you're up and doing the watusi again soon.

thank you everyone, thank you thank you.get the staples out wed. .walking with a cane now.new hip is going to take a little to get used to,can't jog no more so I'm looking into alternatives.Haven't mowed my lawn in almost a month,my boy offered to do it but told him I was going to give it a try Tues.Looking foward to getting back in the groove.BK I don't believe this new hip was made in China but I think I'll ask my Doc. wed....russ

Glad everything is OK so far !
Let's hope it isn't "made in China".
I'll refrain from the jokes !
I hope your recovery is faster than mine (Quad Bypass in 2002) took longer to heal because I'm sure they didn't put the ribs together just right. BUT, I'm still here and just as ornery as ever !

When we stayed in our last house, our neighbour, who was in her 60s had a hip replacement after she slipped on some laminate flooring, and after about a month of recovering she was walking again with no assistance!
