Trying to figure out year model.

I have a Craftsman 16 hp 2 cyl 44" cut lawn tractor that I would like to know the year it was made.

917254323 is the model #.

If you have the serial number of the mower handy it should be in the format of MMDDYY, then a letter, then the individual identifier.

the MMDDYY is the date of manufacture meaning month, day, year.

I have a very general question about year models. A guy has two Craftsman lawn tractors for sale on Craigslist. I haven't talked with him, so don't have any identifying numbers. However, one of them is dark green and one is red. Can anyone give me your best guess about age based on the colors? Thanks in advance. By-the-way, my current rider is a 1990 model Central Park 8HP 32"cut. It still looks good and does OK, but I am looking for another mower.

Should be 02/05/2004 You might want to double check that.
